Oak Park · Can-to-Curb

The Oak Park trash schedule cheat sheet

Athens Services runs Oak Park's residential routes on Wednesdays. Trash, recycling, and yard waste all hit the curb the same morning, with trucks rolling between 5:30am and 11am depending on which side of Kanan you live on.

Here's the rhythm: bins to the curb by Tuesday night, trucks through by mid-morning Wednesday, bins back behind the gate by 7pm Wednesday (Oak Park CC&Rs require it). Miss the truck and you're stuck with a full bin for a week — or driving to the Simi Valley landfill.

Holiday weeks shift everything by one day. Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all bump Wednesday pickup to Thursday. Athens posts the calendar but most homeowners forget by week two.

The simplest fix: stop tracking it yourself. We pull every Oak Park bin Tuesday between 8pm and midnight and have them back behind the gate by Wednesday afternoon — well before the 7pm CC&R deadline.
